For those of you who work or live in Chicago's Loop and are familiar with Tom and Reba, she was returned to him today.
Tom is a panhandler and fixture of downtown Chicago. He is not homeless, but is unemployed and on Social Security. He gets $600 a month and his apartment costs $550. I have "known" him for 7 years and was heartbroken when I started seeing lost fliers downtown. He left Reba outside while he went into McDonalds and a woman took her. It is believed that the woman felt Tom wasn't caring for Reba properly. Another woman who works nearby made the fliers and gave him a prepaid cell phone to aid him in his search. The Anti-Cruelty found out and released a statement saying Tom is a good dog owner, promised free vet care for Reba for the rest of her life and offered to take her back no questions asked.
awwwww. I can't believe a woman took his dog! Even if I saw a bazillionaire who wasn't offering his dog the best care, I couldn't just take the dog (unless said basillionaire was abusing the dog or something). And I'm sure that guy loves his dog to death....I love my dog immensely, but she's not with me all day in one of the hardest lifestyles around.

OMG I'm s happy i just cried reading this. I've also "known" him for nearly 10 years and he loves Reba sooo much it's unbelieveable. I bring her treats whenever I'm going to be in the area I know he'll be at. It's a blessing that she was returned to him. They belong togeher. Yeah for happy endings!!
