Here's a Labor Day poll for everyone! What do you think about white jeans after Labor Day? It's been a traditional no-no, but it seems like you're starting to see them year-round even in non-tropical climates. What is your stance? And if you wear them year round, feel free to share some ideas about how you do that!
If I actually found a pair of white pants that I liked, I would wear them with a black top. Anyhow, I really do think that rule about white after labor day is a thing of the past.
IMO it hasn't been a traditional no-no for some time now. Lucky even did a small spread on how to wear them with sweaters and boots, several years back.
I have finally found the first pair of white jeans I've liked in a long time, and it's been too hot to wear them now. I plan on wearing them with a lot of things this fall.

I don't think the white after labor day rule applies, really - although I usually wear creamier off-whites in the winter, as stark whites (like my white jeans) seem too beachy for me. I do think white jeans in the middle of winter are uncommon (I don't know that I care either way about it, I just know that if I wore mine in the winter I'd be alone and maybe looked at strangely), but I think they can rock through fall with jewel tones.

LOL. because I'm wearing white slacks today just to be defiant.
I seem to pay attention to rules like this quite a bit, because believe it or not, some of them make sense. White shoes and pants will get dirty in the rain and in mud puddles. That isn't merely tradition; it's a fact.
Having said that, if you live in a warm-weather area like Florida or California, I think you can wear sandals, nice white slacks, or other summer gear until the weather changes (though I'd suggest when daylight savings time ends, it's time to pack it away). Like Ttara said, there are plenty of alternatives for fall/winter, such as ivory.

I agree. I wear the cream whites in the winter and stark whites in spring and summer. I guess I kind of stay away from white in the fall though. I don't wear white jeans in the winter though, just a personal preferance, only pants/slacks.
I wear real white in the summer and cream or winter white in the fall/winter. Don't really wear white jeans though but if I did, I suppose I'd only wear them in the summer.
