The carpet in our rooms are a dark chocolate brown. We're painting BIL's (the 9 y.o.) a medium khaki color and putting new white baseboards in. The room is small as it is and any paint color other than white may close the room in even more. So I was thinking of putting light area rug down to divert attn away from the dark carpet. Is that going to look weird? Should I save the area rugs from hard surfaces like wood? Plus I like they complete a room:
I dont think that you should put rugs over a carpet. Never done this before, you can put a rug over a rug pad for the safety measure but rug over a carpet is wastage of money and additionally you have to clean both.
