Silk dress and pantent leather shoes?

I just bought a GORGEOUS silk juicy dress for an occassion I have coming up. It's black - and semi shiny like silk is. I want to wear a hot pair of pumps with the dress - can I wear patent leather with silk? Or is it too much shine?


I have tried regular leather shoes on - but they seem to be boring. SO maybe I need a color or a sandal?


I will try to post pics of the dress later because I would love help picking the actual shoe.

I think it just depends on the dress and the occasion. Oh, and if patent doesn't work, you could also always do a metallic.

i agree. i'd have to see a picture. personally, i prefer shinier materials with a matte leather.

A matte metallic like Erin and FP said would be nice. I think suede would be nice too. I like the idea of mixing different textures together.
