i have a pair of black sudini's that i LOVE. the heel height is perfect and they're incredibly comfy. the leather is rather nice for their price point, but best of all, they fit my skinny calves.

another pair i found great is Circa by Joan & David. they're great for work and going out and also fit my skinny calves.

my no-fail, had-to-have-them boots are my frye campus in antique gold. they're easy to wear and work well w/every color, except gray. other than that, i have no complaints. smile

i think the only color missing from my collection is burgundy, but it's definitely on my list of items to buy this fall.

I would say the brown leather ones, the black pointy toe, the Uggs and snow boots were must haves. The DV, CK, BCBG and Baker's ones were more just because boots

I have over 30 pairs of boots (pretty dumb because I live in sunny Florida!) I think boot stapes are:

a pair of knee length black leather boots with a heel, brown leather knee length with a heel, a pair of pointy ankle length boots, a fun pair of ankle boots to wear with skinny jeans, cowboy boots, Ugg's or a pair of shearling boots, flat knee length boots in a fun color, and a pair of grey boots for those days when you want somehting a little different
