what's your favorite new songs or even old songs revisited?

I don't know if you like rap or hip hop, but I've been listening to Kanye West's two newest singles - Can't Tell Me Nothing and Stronger. The album doesn't come out until 9/11, but I couldn't resist downloading the singles.

Other than that, I've just been listening to music I liked when I was in junior high and high school (The Cure, New Order, The Smiths, U2). Early midlife crisis?

I'm really liking Band of Horses right now and my husband and I were listening to Feist's latest album a lot earlier this summer.

I'm a little late to the Regina Spektor bandwagon but she's great. Her latest album came out last year but I just recently listened to it. It's super good. One of my favorite I've listened to in a while. I also like the new Tegan and Sara. Rilo Kiley just came out with a new album last Tuesday. I meant to grab it over the weekend but didn't have an opportunity. It's supposed to be pretty good as well.

Oooh I was gonna say Feist. It's not new, but I can't stop listening to "Inside and Out" (remake of the Bee Gees). heart.gif

i am LOVING the new M.I.A. cd, kala.  she is unbelievable.  "paper planes" is the best track, i'm obsessed with that song right now.

also in heavy rotation:
"challengers", the new pornographers
"apologize", timbaland
"sky blue sky", wilco
anything by broken social scene
the new beastie boys cd, "the mix up" - it's all instrumental, not your standard bboys fare.  it would probably be good for a long flight.  i just saw them in concert and they killed it.
the pipettes
johnny cash is always a favorite
"digital love", daft punk (old song revisited)

i've heard that the new junior senior cd is really good... and i totally agree with the feist recommendation, "the reminder" is a great album through and through.

I've been listening alot lately to the Bat For Lashes cd Fur and Gold. "Horse and I","The Wizard" and "Trophy" are really good tracks.Anything off the Noisettes album is good,my favorites are "Sister Rosseta" "The Count of Monte Christo" and "I We".Those are both considered alternative I think.

Also good is the song "you picked me" by A Fine Frenzy, which is pop.

When ever I go no a long trip I listen to Red Hot Chili Peppers the whole time, however; I'm a bit of a nut when it comes to them.wink.gif
