crazy to be thinking about christmas?
Permalink Closed

As many of you know from my various posts, we finally bought our own home this year.  I am really excited about decorating for christmas this year.  I know it is super early to think about it, but I want to start now getting some items so that I don't have to drop a huge lump sum later.

I really like to pick one theme each christmas and have had trouble thinking of one for this year.  Here are some I have done in the past:

     white & gold
     candy cane
rock n'roll (had tiny guitar and drum ornaments)
     snowflakes
     traditional red and green

What are some ideas some of you have done in the past?  I need some inspiration!

There are a ton of bright colored ornaments so what about doing a rainbow Christmas?

I've done some themes too including:
-Natural, using lots of red berries and pinecones, and these cute little birdie ornaments
-Stars, you can always find tons of star stuff year round
-Red bows with plaid ribbon, I used the ribbon on my tree instead or garland and trailed it from a big bow as the topper, mixed ribbon in with greens for garland thoughout the house
-Angels

I'm super-excited for Christmas too since BF and I finally bought a place!aww

We're probably going to stick with the theme I've had for the past 4 years or so. I used a classic toys theme (teddy bears, drums, gold musical instruments and stuffed squirrels biggrin)

Cost Plus/World Market always has a zillion exotic animal ornaments - hippos and zebras and such. I could see this with some animal print ribbon and some Moroccan lanterns.
