There are so man styles, I'm just interested to see what everyone's idea of the "perfect LBD" would be :)

i have a really great one from abs, i'll have to get my dh to take a picture tomorrow. it's got a lowish neckline and is sleeveless. it has crochet (in a non-tacky way) detailing at the waist. it is knee-length and it's a dress i can put on and feel fabulous instantaneously.
I dream of a Dolce & Gabbana LBD. They are so chic and sexy and interesting enough so they are never a boring basic.
IRL, I have 2 great LBDs. One is by Elie Tahari and even though I bought it about 5 years ago it's still ridiculously chic. It's a basic sheath in the front and the the back dips really low in the back. My other one is very Audrey Hepburn-esque lace cocktail dress I got from Anthro.
I have the greatest LBD that has criss crossing spaghetti straps in the back.I got it 6 years ago,but it's still very stylish. I will take some pics when I get a chance.
