This is a really interesting page of photos with families from around the world posing with what they eat in a week, what it costs, and their typical meals:

I wish we could zoom in closer on the photos, but you can still tell somewhat the percentage of fresh vs. packaged foods, who's eating bread vs. rice, who's drinking coke, and so on.

And if you've ever asked yourself, what's for dinner in Kuwait or Poland...wonder no more.

That was pretty interesting. It seemed that Japan and England had their fair share of processed foods as well as the US.

I think it comes down to what is available to people, and how much they have to spend for food.

Wow! Russia must be one expensive place to live...$500 for one week?

Very interesting. I noticed mostly every family had bananas! I wonder though if the photos from other countries really represent what people in that country eat as a whole. In the U.S. what one family eats can be a total opposite of what another family eats depending on lifestyle and what part of the country you are from.

Very interesting!  I can't believe how much some of those families spend!  I spend about $100-$125/week for both me and DH but I really buy enough food to feed 4 probably so I don't think I'll ever spend over $150 even with kids (except maybe when they're babies, if I buy disposable diapers and formula).
