Bedroom Art Suggestions
Permalink Closed

I FINALLY found the bedding that I love. The colors are khaki, chocolate brown, and a really dark grey-green color.
I am moving and have a very small room but a much larger closet, So the room will entail my bed, night stand and a tv stand that is iron. I am probably going with khaki curtians. I am completely drawing a blank on a lamp and wall art. The colors are not going to work with my existing art which if fine because it is time for a change. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

here is the bedding...245623_fpx.tif?

very nice suggestion, cat. Very dramatic.

Deuce, do you like kitschy, mid-century-modern design with a lot of color? Try Jennski. She offers art and prints.

i love the bedding - it's so neutral so you can really do anything. i personally would pick lamps or art w/pops of color but not sure of your style. what type of art are you drawn to? etsy is fun to browse for original artwork - there are some huge original paintings on there that you can get for a steal.

I'm of the opinion that art should be personal and not just on the wall to be there.  I like framing or tacking up:
*maps (i have a cool old map of the world thats all in persian)
*my friends artwork/my own/families
*photos taken by friends/family
*cool artwork found at flea markets/thrift stores - my friend has this cool piece that is made entirely of butterfly wings
*old pieces of wallpaper/fabric/wrapping paper

If I like a painting- I try to make a rendering of it myself.  Right now I'm working on a Georgia O Keefe piece that looks way too flat as a poster.  And clearly I can't have the original smile
