This year, I have convinced myself that I need a one-piece swimsuit. I've always been quite slender but have gained about 10-15 lbs. in the past 12-18 months. I don't work out and have a damn tummy pooch. My legs are slender but not toned. I'm having trouble finding a one-piece that I like. So many are very "age-inappropriate" for a 32-year-old who values fashion.

What do you all think of this one? You know how toddlers have a little belly; and a one-piece swimsuit showcases it? Will I look like that? I'm not usually self-conscious like this. It's annoying.

I feel your pain about finding swimsuits! Even though I'm pretty much always the same weight, if I haven't been exercising and doing sit ups I just can't stand to see my flabby stomach in a two-piece swimsuit (I am definitely not one of those people that has a naturally flat and toned stomach...).

I think that the suit you've found is really nice! It's glam. And I don't think you should worry about the "stomach pooch"! I've never really noticed one piece swimsuits making anyone's stomach look worse.

I've had the same problem and I even bought a 1 piece that I thought was really cute (sort of a retro style. But everytime I put it on - I have that same feeling about the toddlers' bellies. I think it accentuates mine, so I just stick to the bikini. and if i feel really concious a sheer/gauzy coverup.

I tihnk the 1 pieces with interesting cutouts may be more "age-appropriate for the fashionista". i.e. VS, Sauvage, Melissa Odabash. HTH

I'm on the fence about whether they accentuate belly pooches. I do think it's dependent on the suit, and in a black one I think there's a smaller chance that you'll have the tummy action going on. I think tankinis help a lot with that - you can have the coverage but they're not pulled down quite as tightly because they're not connected to anything at the bottom. Whenever I'm walking around out of the water in my one-piece, though, I still suck in my stomach. I think it's a lot less noticeabl that I'm sucking it in then than if I were wearing a bikini and doing that.

I like the one you posted. It will showcase your cleavage, and help hide a non-toned tummy.

And the cut of it looks sophisticated and sexy, not dowdy.
