I have heard really good things about the Hotel Riu in Cancun. All inclusive and it is in a great location. Additionally, you can't beat Cancun for a rip-roaring good time with the girls

I have been to the Dominican and I would never go again. It is so depressing. The people are repressed and depressed, and the livliness that you find in other Carribean countries seems to be missing. Santo Domingo was ok, but again, I just felt so bad whenever I would talk to the locals because they would talk about the government holding them down, only giving jobs to friends or family. Just too depressing for a vacation.

It is cheap, which is why we went, but there are other cheap places, like Jamaica (LOVE!). Or, maybe Cancun like Farrah suggests, that is definately a popular, party place.

We went to the Barcelo Bavaro Palace in Punta Cana. It was all-inclusive, which was perfect because we went with two other couples.

Punta Cana is really pretty, with beautiful sandy beaches. We had fun because we went with a group, but it was really laid back. Each resort is pretty isolated, so there isn't a lot of opportunity to go to bars at different hotels, etc... Most of the people we saw were families or couples.

I LOVE Playa del Carmen in Mexico - less crazy than Cancun, but lots of great AI hotels and good restaurants and bars. And the beach of course is amazing. I would check into places there.
