They announced that Isaiah Washington's contract is not being renewed, but punk-ass George's has been renewed. WTF are they thinking?! They managed to get rid of two of their best characters (Burke and Addison) and kept the most annoying unlikeable ones (the whole original intern class with the exception of Alex). In addition, this whole new storyline that has Meredith's half sister as a new intern is the most ridiculous thing I have ever witnessed. To quote Washington, "I'm mad as hell and I'm not gonna take it anymore"! I'm done!!!

Personally I think this was the right decision. I loved the character of Burke and think they could just recast the role; what Washington did was wrong and created a lot of division behind the scenes, and keeping him on after the fact would condone his actions. The storylines themselves may have been less satisfying or interesting this year, so hopefully next year will improve.
I'm glad they got rid of Isaiah Washington. I liked his character, but tolerating hate-speech behind the scenes sets a horrible example for everyone. I'm glad he got canned.
As far as the series goes, I'm still not sure if I'll come back next season, but I'm thinking not, and it has nothing to do with Addison or Burke leaving. IMO, the show really deteriorated after that 3 episode arc with the ferry boat accident and it never got better. I'll maybe watch one or two episodes next season to see if it gets any better, but I doubt it will.

Oh it's definitely coming back next season - ABC already announced it in it's fall lineup.
As for Isiah getting canned, I figured this would happen, however, I'm not very happy about it. I don't agree or condone what he did and said, but I also really liked his character and don't think they can just replace him.

I probably won't watch it either. The first season was more fun. Now it's all dramatic and Meredith being pouty. And I'm not in to the George/Izzy storyline.

I came, I saw, I did a little shopping.
But alas, by the end of the summer and all of these mindless filler programs, I will probably be craving some Grey's.
The storylines are getting sucky, but whomever the character, those writers always have some great lines for somebody to deliver, the music is always cool, so there's still something left to tune in for! Maybe they will bring in some good new characters?

I'll still be rooting for the show to get better next season. It sucks that Burke was written off because he was one of the shows more talented actors.
I agree with zeitgeist though, I am not going for the Izzy/George relationship.
