etiquette on wedding gift return?
Permalink Closed

my friend M is getting married next weekend, and i sent her a blender from her registry at macy's. a few days ago i got an email from macy's saying the blender had been returned, and this morning the refund showed up on my credit card.

i'd assumed M would get store credit to spend how she wanted until my card was refunded. now i'm not sure what to do, as now she has no gift from me. should i ask her about this? i just want to be sure to give her a gift.

Just ask her. I am sure she will appreciate the fact that you did.

That is very strange!  I would definitely just ask her since she will probably feel a bit awkward asking you about it

thanks, ladies!

i decided to go ahead and order another gift from her registry -- after my post, i checked it again and saw the blender was marked as "fulfilled," so maybe someone else also got it for her and that's why she returned it.   i tried getting in touch with her anyway a week or so ago and haven't heard back; i think she is really busy in this last week before the wedding!
