Ok, I ordered something from Neiman Marcus and they sent it via FedEx Home Delivery.

This service is absolute CRAP. I have to be home to sign for it, and they won't take a written signed note saying it's OK to leave the package on my doorstep.
They said they'll attempt to deliver 3 times (but, hello, I work and will never be home) and after that I can pick it up at the location center designated. Well, the location center is a 1 hour drive from where I live. WTF is this!?

I hate that stuff!

Can you call and have them redirect the package to your work or a neighbor that's home?

Can you try calling back and ask to speak to a manager?  I had the same situation recently with this service and I got so fed up -- partially because they came by while I was at home (specifically waiting for them), didn't press the buzzer and just left me the little note that they'd be back at a time I couldn't be there.  The pick-up place was reaaaaaaaally far from where I live, too.  So when I called them, I asked to speak to a manager, pled my case (politely but insistently), lied (oops) and told them I didn't have a car to get me to the pick up place and they agreed to send it to a different address.

Ugh I HATE Fedex Home Delivery. I've been through the exact same thing. How does ANYONE get their packages delivered? I have to go to work so I can afford to buy things and have them shipped to me!

Ha! Exactly. At the very least they should have multiple pick-up centers. I wouldn't mind picking it up if it was close to my house.

Seriously, I hate them too. I get the store merchandise delivered to my house and this happens to me every few weeks.

Like Hello, I cant take the day off of work just to sign for a package. And last week they said I could pick it up (but the drive was 7 HOURS away from me) So freaking stupid!!!!!!!!!!

Ditto on this rant. The train station near me doesn't have a ticket booth, so I have to either order tickets online or drive to a farther station that does have ticketing services. It's easier to just order online and get them sent to me, right? Wrong, because they use FedEx home delivery.

I just had this problem a couple of weeks ago. They changed the delivery address for me without a problem. If that doesn't work, they might be able to set up a later delivery time, perhaps something after five?

FedEx drives me NUTS!!!  There was one time when I had ordered something that was shipped FedEx.  My husband and I were sitting in the living room all morning watching a movie and I knew my package was supposed to be delivered that day.  I decided to go look out the front door and there was a note attached to the door saying that the driver had tried to deliver but no one was at home.  I called and they contacted the driver and he said he had knocked but no one came to the door.  I knew that was a lie because first of all, our living room is right at the front door and we would have heard him.  Secondly, we have a DOORBELL that he could have rung.  I try to avoid ordering things that are shipped FedEx, but sometimes you just can't avoid it.

I had to resurrect this because I HATE fedex even more than I did before.

Usually they just leave packages in the mail room of my apartment. There is no kind of attendant or anything, it's the vestibule you have to walk through to get inside the building. That pisses me off that they just leave it where anyone could take it, but I didn't always have a lot of options because the nearest pickup center is 4 hours away.

I've been home all day (I skipped classashamed). I was sitting here wondering if my fedex package would come today, so I went online to check it. It was delivered two hours ago!!! They left a note that it was left at the door because no signature was required. I was home all day! The doorbells are RIGHT next to the mailbox that they sat it on. Why couldn't he have rang it? Plus, anyone off the street can (and homeless people often do) come into our mail room without a key. I live in a bad part of town and people are completely shady in my apartment building. I've had packages stolen before and other friends in my building have, too.

So I called FedEx and said I was really upset because I was home all day and no one rang my doorbell, so anyone could have taken it. They said that in the future I need to just tell the people who are sending me things to make a signature required, or call after its sent and they'll change the status mid-transit. I'm afraid to do that because if they come while I'm at work or school, they won't be able to leave it even if I leave a note saying they should. But if I'm actually home, I cannot believe that they wouldn't ring my bell. I have very expensive stuff coming to me and I don't want it sitting around where anyone can take it. It's enough to make me completely avoid all companies who only have FedEx as a shipping option, because this is getting ridiculous.furiousfuriousfuriousfuriousfuriousfuriousfuriousfuriousfuriousfurious

Wow, I thought I was the only one who had repeated problems with Fed Ex!  A couple weeks ago, I was having something very important overnight delivered to my home by Fed Ex.  I was at home all day waiting.  Finally at about 3pm, I called the company who was sending my package, and they tell me that Fed Ex attempted to deliver it, but no one was home to sign for it.  First of all, I live in a highrise that has a doorman, so someone is always at the front desk.  Always!  Second, on the off chance someone wasn't at the front desk, I was home and no one called me.  Third, there was no door tag left saying they attempted to deliver it.  What bull!  I 100% believe that the driver never even came and tried.  I ended up having to drive 30 mins to the nearest Fed Ex facility to pick it up.  I hate Fed Ex!

Oh no! I never read this thread until now; and I sent my dad's birthday gift through Fed Ex Home Delivery. Crap. I hope they deliver it on time and that my dad is home! Surely, since my dad lives in BFE, there won't be a facility close by. Now I'm all worried. Poo.

I just have to say that one time I saw a FedEx delivery guy ring someone's doorbell at the same time he was putting the attempted delivery note on the door. Without waiting even one second, he ran back to his truck. If they were home, they would never have had a chance to get to the door on time.

That being said, I am expecting a package on Tuesday, so I'm crossing my fingers!

Our ups guy here also rings the bell as he is going back to the truck. I have to say at least they ring the bell even if they leave as compared to those who just drop the package and go without even ringing the bell.
