I have a craftsman style house and need rocking chairs for the porch.  Which one do you like?
house (front yard has grass now, that was when previous owner was there:

Super cute house - I love the rock on the columns!
I would go with the adorandack chairs.  They seem to go more with the style of your house.

Ditto. And they look more comfortable.

I have house envy. I happen to love Adirondack chairs - it's a marvel of engineering how comfortable they are.

First, I'm totally jealous of your house--it's adorable. I love rocking chairs, so I'm voting for the brown rocker.  But, not to be an enabler, but I think you have room for two rockers and two adirondacks--two on each side of the porch.

Before you go out and get them, Michaels and AC Moore both sell rockers and adirondacks and pretty much every week in the paper they have 40% or 50% off one item coupons.  I ended up getting each of our rocking chairs at AC Moore for $50 apiece.

Also, just a quick idea here, there are a TON of craftsman homes in Raleigh and I know of one that looks a lot like yours and they did the cutest thing.  They got curtains and put them up around the porch and use big tassells to tie them back around the columns and it looks SO pretty.

Great.  Right now the results are a tie.  I'm really back and forth on this.  I really want sage adirondack rockers, but BF isn't feeling that and they are a lot more pricey.  I'm thinking we could always paint whatever we get later if we want though.

We are thinking rockers on one side and a swing on the other.

Interesting, I would have never thought about curtains.  Did they use some sort of material thats treated for the outdoors?  I've been thinking of putting curtains on the screened in back porch for a while.

Thanks for alll the compliments on the house ladies!

I just want to say that it is my DREAM to live in a house just like yours! I hope you smile to yourself everytime you walk in the front door, because i sure would! you lucky girl!

ETA: I would go with whichever is more comfortable, unless they are just for decoration, then i would go for the adirondack (wow, that a hard word to spell)
