since I'm not working for a few weeks I was thinking of doing something a little fun to my hair, like putting in some bright funky streaks.
example:
Questions...At 28, is this look too immature? Should I have to done professionally or could I do it myself with some of those Punky Colors or whatever? If I went and had it done, what exactly do I ask for? I'm blonde so I was thinking either pink, purple or orange- any opinions?
I can't see the pic, but I would do subtle pink streaks, and I'd have it professionally dyed to avoid the "I dyed my hair with Kool-Aid, I am sooooo rebellious" look.
BTW, I think it's a cute look if done right and you're not too old!

Darling- as much as I would love you to do this cause you're awesome...I just can't see it on you. I'm trying and trying to picture you with some sort of color highlights and it's just not working. That being said, I think the pink would work the best with your skin tones and hair color. I don't think you are too old or anything like that, I just don't know if I like it on you. What about trying something that could wash out right away just to test it out?

i would go for it. but i would like to give a little piece of advice, from my own personal experience.
if you want the color to come out easily when you have to go back to work, i would go for the semi perminant hair color. it washes out a little every time you wash your hair, but it takes at least 2 weeks before the fade starts to become noticeable. and they are super easy to remove when the time comes. there are some colors of dye that you have to bleach your hair first to get them to show up. they have more like almost a foggy jello look to them instead of the thick gel look that most have. if you use one of the ones that looks like foggy jello, it won't show up on your hair. it would kind of look more like just a slight tint of color and it didn't sound like that was what you were going for.
DO NOT USE MANIC PANIC!!!! if you plan on having it come out in a reasonable amount of time, manic panic is not the dye for you. i kid you not, i used their hot pink, and ait faded in the normal amount of time, but it got to a certain shade of salmon and stayed there. it would not go away. i stripped my hair, bleached it 3 times in a 2 day period, used blonde hair dye, everything i could think of. it would not come out. the same thing with their black and green. the pink though, stayed at that salmon color for 5 months before i finaly gave up and went brunette. no joke, no exageration.
ok so I went to look for some wash-out color and all I could find was blue. Blue+dark blonde hair=sickly shade of green. Not cute. It looked a little too crusty hobo punk to me. Even my boyfriend said "baby, you're too pretty for crazy hair".
I still like the look, just on other people. I'm just not a dyed hair kind of girl.
Oh, and it washes right out with shampoo, that way I could have streaked hair only when I wanted to.

That's an awesome idea! Can you be a little more specific on how you did it? Do you pull your hair back and then pull out the pieces you want to color? Or do you fix your hair and then do a few pieces? Does it start out kind of wet and dry? What kind of hair pomade do you use? What, exactly, is hair pomade? Lots of questions!

Ok, here's the details... I curled my hair per usual and then before I sprayed any hairspray, I picked a few pieces around the front of my face and then mixed some mineral pigment and a little pomade in my hand and rubbed it on the designated pieces. And then sprayed like always. It does start out a little wet but does dry, just not crunchy which is why I didn't use gel. And it's important to use as little pomade as possible to keep it from being too wet and kind of limp looking, it takes a little trial and error, so I just practiced before I washed my hair one day. Oh, and here is an example of hair pomade, I don't think it matters what kind you use:
Let me know if you have any more questions. Oh, and even though my hair is really light blonde the pigments didn't dye my hair any but I suggest testing a strand of hair that isn't highly visiable Hope that helps!
