My lawn is a mess.....weeds everywhere.  I want to do something myself but I refuse to go chemical crazy.  Does anyone have any green suggestions?  Thanks so much for any help.

Other than a hoe and some sweat smile,  you don't have a lot of choice if you don't use any herbicides.

Yup, sorry!  If you don't let the weeds go to seed (like when the dandelions develop that cute white fluffy pouf) your weed population won't get bigger at least!  Get one of those little hand weeder tools and yank 'em out by the roots, don't cut your grass too short because it lets enough light to the soil for the weed seeds to germinate, and consider aerating your lawn and spreading a thin layer of compost to it this fall.  By next spring it will be alot healthier, and the best defense against weeds is a super-healthy lawn.

I've been looking around and I knew there wouldn't be a lot of options but knew that there have to be some.  I found this http://www.gardensalive.com/product.asp?pn=8862&sid=100308&eid=&bhcd2=1178827111 Something I may consider come fall.

I also found out that vinegar is a week spot killer, also good for driveway cracks.

I'll keep looking.  Poison may be easy but it's not the only way....

I do live in the Garden State, so maybe that's why we have such a variety of lawn care pro's in the phone book, but if you haven't already check there for "Organic Lawn Care."
