After swearing I would be staying pale this summer, I went and got myself a spray tan a couple of weeks ago. The color was beautiful --no orange glow. People that saw it thought I had been out in the sun until I told them. Unfortunately, it still looked a little funny around my ankles like it can when you don't apply self-tanner correctly. My main gripe is this: when I left the salon, the girl who sprayed me sent me home with a sample of "tan extender" lotion. It smelled just like self-tanner except a little better. What is the purpose of getting a spray tan if I am going to have to use extender lotion every night? That just kind of defeats the purpose to me. Your thoughts?

Well, think about it. Every kind of tan you get has its pros and cons. For instance, the first time I tried self tanner, my ankles came out waay too dark and I spent the rest of the week scrubbing them and not wearing shorts (fabulous, right?) If you had gone out in the sun (besides all of the negative effects) you most likely would have gotten sunburned and had to apply aloe every single day. So in the end, as long as your tan is golden and even, a little lotion every night around the ankles isn't so bad.
