I really like the jergens natural glow moisturizer, they have one espeically for fair skin, and you just use it daily like regular moisturizer and your tan builds gradually. I used this last year when I was super pale and it looked really natural on me.
I've used JNG for the last two seasons. I started with the lightest formula, but didn't really see any results (and I'm very fair too), so I use the medium.

I think Jergens makes me look orange, and I'm light skinned. Plus it stinks and washes off. I didn't see any results with the fair skin formula, so I went to the medium. I was orange.
I like Coppertone's 30 minute self-tanner. I looked brown and not orange with that one. I think these self tanners are all hit and miss. What works for someone, won't necessarily work for someone else. :\
i am extremely pale, like blindingly pale, plus, my skin is extremely dry, so i streak really really easily. i use a combination of products to keep me from looking like a ghost and to keep myself from streaking. i use the oil of olay lotion with sunless tanner in it. it is very subtle so i can use it generously and i can use it just about every day. and since it is so subtle, and moisturizing, i never streak with it. and once a week i will use revlon skinlights sunless tanner. it is a beautiful color and it has a bronze tint to it so i can see where i am getting it. it really doesn't streak very easily, so if it does, it is easy to correct with the oil of olay. i know it seems like a very long hastle of a ritual, but it really isn't. especially if you don't have a problem with streaks.
I absolutely love Dove Energy Glow. I used it religiously last summer, it's subtle, but doesn't turn me orange, and is the only self tanner I've found that actually smells pretty good. The summer before last I used JNG and I think it smells so nasty! Plus, it streaks and wears off really weird, at least on me.
