can you recommend healthy ones I can make at home and subsitute for a meal? I'm trying to lose weight and sometimes I buy ones from Juice It Up! but it can be pricey if I buy often.......
I buy a frozen fruit "smoothie mix", but soon I'll probably be buying my own frozen fruit and mixing it, because I don't like the little pineapple chunks. But I do:
1/2 cup frozen fruit (my smoothie mix has strawberry, papya, and pineapple) 1/2 a banana (sometimes a whole one if it's smaller or I want a creamier smoothie) 1/4 cup milk (this sounds nerdy, but sometimes I even use vanilla Ensure because it has vitamins & junk in it!) 1/4 cup orange juice (or some orange juice ice cubes)
whee! blend and eat! This makes a little over one cup, because I usually make this as a bedtime snack. For a meal, I just double it.
