currently my guest room has striped walls in tan and ivory. I would like to add some color or depth to the room - what does everyone think about these together?
Can anyone suggest any artwork that would go with this? Something eclectic ...
p.s. I'm really not a decorator at all so this is a shot in the dark, but I love photography and I could sort of see how photographs with some rich sunset-y colors could look great. I subscribe to National Geographic in part for their great photographs and I know you can order prints from them online -- it might be worth checking out. I have this one just to give you an idea of the sort of thing:
The prints on those items are vaguely ethnic to me, so that could be a direction. Picking up on the orange and yellow is a great idea for the art. (Orange and blue being complements). Some dark teak chunky candleholders or wall plaques could work too.
If I could make an unsolicited suggestion, the most popular piece in my guest room seems to be the hotel-style luggage rack. I would mos' def have one even just folded up in the closet. One of my frequent visitors uses it for her laptop.
Allie- There are a few items with these colors and a similar style at Anthro. I saw them today--don't know if things are different in your region, but you might wanna take a look.
