This is the best thing I've done in a loooong time. My hair is naturallly curly and kinda frizzy, so I normally blow dry and flat iron it every morning. Well, since getting this done I can just wash and go. It dries perfectly in place and straight. LOVE it. I would highly recommend it to anyone considering (I know there's been quite a few posts where people were asking about it.)
Do you mind me asking how much it costs? How do they do it?

The rate depends on your hair length and thickness. For me, it was $300. They use some type of chemicals (takes about 2.5 hours). Honestly, I was concerned about damage..but my hair actually feels exactly the same as it did prior.

How often do you have to get it done? I have a friend who might be interested. Also, did you go to your regular salon or did you have to find one that specializes in the straightening?
I will need to get it done once a year. Some people need it twice a year, but my hair doesn't start to curl until it's a good 4-5 inches long. It is permanent, otherwise..you really only need to go back to have the new hair treated.
I got it done by the lady who normally colors and cuts my hair. She happens to be a specialist in the procedure and recommended that I do it.
Thanks for the info Kitty. It might be worth it for my friend to look into. Whenever she does her hair she blowdrys it and straightens it. Do you know if since you dont have to be styling your hair all the time does it help eliminate the damage? Or help lessen it?
Well, that's kind of what pushed me into just getting it..
So, I was worried about the damage it would cause, but then I realized that it's probably just as bad to blow dry and flat iron your hair every single day. I guess it kind of balances out..now I don't have to blow dry or flat iron at all, but I'm sure there was some initial damage in getting the straightening.
