my concern is the top. it was an impulse buy, but it's a great fit, pretty good quality, and an excellent price. it's a bit too short to wear as a dress, so i need something under it. i like the idea of more fitted pants, but leggings are not me.
i don't want long jeans because i plan on trying to make it an outfit i can wear on vacation next week where it will be warmer.
the other issue is that i want comfy shoes for all the walking and i don't have wedges that will fit the bill, plus, i love those shoes and i think the top and shoes work well together.
do the pants look ok? are the proportions off? with all my needs in this outfit, can i make the top work, or should it go back? btw, i'm 5'6"
any other suggestions?
thanks in advance for all of your opinions.

I have worn similar outfits, and i think the proportion is good. for the past couple of years I have worn a very similar outfit - comfy and cute for casual running around.

thanks for your opinion, you rock the tunic or dress over pants well (i'm remembering your search for the pc mag outfit). i have always worn dresses with long jeans or pants, even when it was "out", but my hesitation is because of the cropped pants and flats. is it ok for long top, shorter pants, and flat shoes? do i need to change one of the three?

no, i know, and i've never posted a pic of me in this outfit. it's cuffed jeans, an empire tunic and flats - same as you have here - I personally like the look and proportions.

i think it's fine as you posted, but i like it a lot w/a cropped pant too, or a tapered crop/capri since you don't want to do leggings (i dont feel they are "me" either)
