I am so confused about jeans this season. What are you all doing?
a. sticking with bootcuts because they're easy, flattering, you have a closet full of them, and you already know what to wear with them b. going with skinnies/straight legs because you bought a pair last season and still think they're pretty hot c. doing the wide leg ones because they're comfortable and a newer option d. all of the above
My everyday jeans always have been and always will be bootcuts. I have a pair of straight leg, though, which I use in lieu of skinnies. I just can't do skinnies, but my straight legs still lack the flare of a bootcut so I can kind of get in on the style. They look infinitely better on me than anything tapered.

I'm wearing wide leg. I love them. I have a pair from Anthro, a pair from Banana and the sailor ones from NY and Co...I have bootcuts in my closet but have stayed away from skinnies (I already "did" them in the 80's and they do not flatter me at all!)...
Im wearing all of them, but the ones I wear most are the wide legs. I love trouser fit jeans and I think they look great with all the chunky wedge shoes that are in style.
bootcuts are my staple. i have a couple of straight leg pairs, and a pair of highwaisted wide legs that i love. i'm so excited b/c i love all the variation this season. i feel that dif. jeans work with different options. i opt for wide leg if i want a more fashion forward look, straight legs with flats, and boot cuts if i just want a simple, clean look.
I've never really stopped wearing wide legs whether they're trendy or not (as long as they're wide but straight, not flared) - but it's about half boot cut, half wide these days.
Wide legs are better for my "dressy casual" office, and boot cut for weekends.
The skinnies looked great on the skinny body I had back in the 80s, but now, not so much.
Skinnys 95 %, working into the wideleg but they have to be lo/mid to low rise. I am too leggy as it is so the high waist is out for me. Straights look old lady frumpy on me so not an option.
Thankfully any thing goes and there are plenty of options for everyone. It really has to be a matter of knowing what works for our own particular porportions regardless of whats "in".
