So I was doing really well for a few weeks. I lost 5 pds and then I've stopped. I'm not eating more than 1300 calories a day and working out 6 days a week. Examples of workouts of last few days Sunday 20 mile bike along lakefront Monday 60 min spin class and 20 min ab class Tuesday 30 min running hills on treadmill and 30 minutes of upper body weights.
No weight loss and I want to cry! For those who are into health/fitness can you please give me some advice on what to do? I want to lose 7 more pds and I'm getting frustrated. TIA!

This might sound weird, but you may not be eating enough. Sometimes that will slow down your metabolism because your body is "clinging" to every calorie it receives.
looking at your workout it seems like you're probably building muscle (which is great!) and as we all know muscle weighs more than fat...have you taken your measurements?
Also, I agree with boosting your calorie intake, even by 50-100 calories...sounds like you're working out enough to cover the extra calories...

Yeah, I agree that you're probably not eating enough. I actually went to a nutritionist who told me not to eat less than 1500 calories because doing so would seriously mess w/ my metabolism. I'm 5'7 and about 145..I told her I wanted to lose 10 lbs and she said to eat about 1500-1800 calories a day if I'm working out.
I agree with trying to eat a little more. With all that exercise, you're body might think it's starving and be holdign onto everything. Also, drink loyts of water if you aren't already.
you should get your body fat measured. im sure your health club does it. It is a bit uncomfortable, they pinch you in either 3 or 5 places with calipers and then do some math and give you a percentage. 13-19% is excellent for a female

I agree with Jahni. When you first start working out, you are building muscle on top of existing fat. Until you get to the point where the fat goes away, you will both feel bigger (clothes will fit tigher) and likely weigh more than when you started, or find that your scale is not registering a smaller weight number when you want it to.
It won't all go away overnight, just as it didn't all arrive overnight. Keep up the exercise but give it a little more time. And yeah, you might want to eat a bit more. Severely restricting calories in any form is going to freak your body out and it will want to hold onto everthing it has at the moment.

I would say up the calorie intake some with healthy foods. If all else fails try cherries, salmon, or almonds - they are known in WW world as foods that help get you off a plateau
If you don't drink green tea, start! It is supposed to help speed up the metabolism (when you exercise regularly) plus full of antioxidants. Have small healthy snacks throughout the day....baby carrots, almonds, berries....
Also, I just signed up for email newsletters from prevention.com. When they sent my first confirmation email they included a pdf document with great information including a 30 guide to track your daily food and exercise along with tips and a place to note goals and accomplishments. It lets you check off all of the daily servings you are supposed to have in a day. I looked for it online but can't find it so I can only recommend signing up for the email.

Wow,I didn't know this, that explains why my weight loss is at a stand still now. When I went to my doctor in Steptember,to lose weight she actually told me to eat less(Maybe she didn't belive I only ate two small meals a day).
Perhaps it is time for a new doctor.

I also recommend SparkPeople. If you put in approximately how many calories you are burning a week it will adjust the daily recommended food intake upwards to prevent metabolism issues.
