Washing Powder/Detergent?
Permalink Closed

What washing powder or detergent do you use? I'm a huge fan of my clothes smelling CLEAN when they come out of the washer, so right now I'm using Fab Ocean Breeze. It's pretty good, but I think I change detergents every month. LOL I want something new/better. I use to be an avid fan of Arm & Hammer, but even it stopped working.

What about you?

I use All Free and Clear. I like my clothes to be completely odorless.

I'm a detergent snob.  I use Tide, clean breeze, and Downey, the breeze scent also.  I also add about a 1/2 cup of baking soda in the wash.  We are on a well and I feel like our water smells minerally - not a word but I couldn't think of a better one

Right now its Arm & Hammer. I prefer to get the inexpensive stuff. They all do the same job to me! I am picky on scents however even if they don't linger on the clothes. Got to smell something nice while I do laundry!

Costco brand (Kirkland) liquid in the white bottle. I think it's less dye and whatnot.

Tide liquid. I can't stand powder detergents!

Method Sweetwater--works, smells delicious, and is better for the environment than most detergents.

I use Tide cleanbreeze with Downy also in cleanbreeze scent.  Same goes with dryer sheets!

Some people think there is no difference in detergents but there is.  A couple weeks ago this girl wore the same shirt as me to work.  Her shirt was way faded in color.

Wool-lite for dark colors. I use this on my most of my clothes and Chris shool clothes. For old clothes(yard etc and cleaning rags) one of the cheaper brands such as  purex  or what ever is on salewink

In the past 6 months, I've stuck w/either Tide or Gain. Ive been trying to try Woolite for dark colors, but I always forget to get it at the store.

I've been using the arm & hammer clean burst scent. I really really liked the spring burst but can only find the clean scent so I just keep getting it.  I don't ever get powder...just liquid. I finally decided to get a downy ball and have been using downy fabric softner on the baby's clothes....I like it and may have to switch to that from the dryer sheets for all our clothes now.

Purex-it works as well as Tide, but costs less

Tide liquid and Downy. I hate powder detergents! I used them when I lived in Scotland and though my clothes smelled clean, they never looked clean.

agreed. My mom used powder detergent growing up and I HATED it because I'd get white streaks on my black clothes and they just looked dingy

Method Detergent. Best smells, and because it's ultra concentrated it lasts forever. Love it!
