I am so excited, since we finally (mostly) finished the living room, so I thought I'd share the 2-year transformation process. I still need a reading lamp, and maybe a little rug or something, and I'd like to get a nice vase + flowers for the table. SORRY about the huge pics. I tried resizing, but it wouldn't let me!
before we bought it two years ago (NOT my furniture/decorating!)
after we moved in:
NOW: new shutters, painting, chair re-upholstered:
the chair: this was from my house growing up -- my favorite reading chair. The upholstery was torn and missing in some places, the stuffing was poor, and the legs were scratched. We had it re-upholstered and stained the legs to match the furniture.
and just for fun, since it's done, a before/after of my yard (1st time we've had a finished yard!) before:

Wow! You guys have done a great job! The living room looks a thousand times better--that old furniture from the former owners was something else! Your furniture and paint scheme make that room look so much bigger and inviting too.
The pool and backyard looks amazing too. I'll bet it'll be so nice to have that this summer!
