Has anyone ever been there to look at dresses? What was your experience like? I'm interested since they're supposed to have the largest selection of dresses. I'm still looking locally, but if I don't find anything I wonder if its worth making a trip up to NYC.
No, I didn't find anything there that I couldn't in Atlanta. It was really crowded and they brought the dresses to me. I like it when I can actually look through them myself. The lady who helped me kept bringing me things that were beaded and I told her no beading, so it was very frustrating since I couldn't go out and pick out what I wanted. You might have good luck at other places in NYC though, so it still might worth it. It was just a fun trip with my mom, so for me it was worth it to go, just not Kleinfelds.
I live in NYC, but haven't been to Kleinfeld's yet. My BF has been saving for a ring and I think is going to propose in the next couple months, and my mom is dying to go to Kleinfeld's, so whenever we do go I'll post a review of it. When were you thinking of making the trip?
I bought my dress at Kleinfelds 2 years ago...when it was still in Brooklyn. I haven't been back since.
I liked it because you could see many designers at once. I bought a Monique Lhuillier (sp?) dress that I 1st tried on @ a trunk show. I happened to go w/my mother the day they were having a trunk show, I tried it on, but had lots of other palces to go. Went everywhere else : Vera Wang, Amsale, Kenneth something, Reem Acra, Barneys, Saks, Carolina Herrera and 1-2 others. I loved a Vera Wang dress, but went back to Kleinfelds.
I made them get the dress back from whereever else they'd sent it for trunk shows, tried it on again and bought it. Sigh.
I bought everything there, shoes, veil, headpeice, hair thingys. everything. i tried onthe shoes elsewhere, but bought them there bc it was easier to get everything at one place...that's the reason to go there....it's easy. Yeah, it's more "factory" than other places, but they've been doing it FOREVER and know their stuff. The fitter did everything I asked her to do and altho my veil came in the wrong color they re-ordered and fixed any issues as soon as they were pointed out...
Any place will have issues, at Kleinfeld's none of them will be unexpected. I loved it there, I enjoyed seeing all the other brides and other dresses. Plus, i got my gorgeous perfect dress for cheaper than I would have elsewhere. It's NOT a discount place, but the trunk show was worth it!
Feel free to PM me if you have any specific questions. I'm happy to talk wedding details any time!
