I actually burst into tears the minute I got home from work because of the excruciating pain. Actually, all of my teeth hurt now. I googled this and it is called "referred pain" where your injured tooth sends out signals to your other teeth or something. Whatever it is, it sucks. Basically, filling the cavity injured the nerve. Normally you would have a root canal, but since its a wisdom tooth, it has to be removed. I was really hoping the pain would subside, but it has only intensified.
Thanks girls for all your reassurance about this. I haven't contacted the oral surgeon yet. I'm still trying to muster up the courage. If you can't tell, I'm a baby about these things.
I feel so bad for you! I hate pain! get it taken out soon, why keep suffering? Its actually not that bad, once they numb you you should'nt feel anything. good luck
That really sucks. The good thing is that if you are going to an oral surgeon, you will get general anesthetic, and be asleep, which is what I did for my wisdom teeth and it was woooonderful (well as wonderful as getting wisdom teeth removed can be). It won't be as bad as you think it will be, I promise that, and you'll be so much happier afterwards when your teeth don't hurt!

Just think of how much better you'll feel when the tooth is out, that may help you make the appointment. I was awake for one wisdom tooth removal and it really wasn't that bad. For the others I was knocked out and that was fine too! I really, really don't like dentists and found that either way, it really wasn't as bad as I thought it would be.
Good luck!

I actually had it pulled this morning. I'm a little Vicodin loopy now. My oral surgeon was really sexy with a British accent and big guns! I guess you would have to have good upper body strength to pull teeth. Maybe he just seemed sexy to me because he was my knight in shining scrubs, putting an end to my pain.
