based on what I see here...

- the "girls next door" look: bleach blond/skintight flare jeans/super-pointy boots/bebe-style shirt thing (in the summer, the jeans/boots are replaced with platform flipflops and miniskirts)

-putting a belt over everything. Some things don't need to be belted!

-absurdly large (not just oversized) sunglasses

-also with you on the wood/cork platforms

i agree wholeheartedly! i'm also sick of:
-humungo sunglasses
-skinny jeans
-skull stuff (sorry to those who like it)
-skinny chicks hauling bags twice the size of them
-the pajama pants as daywear look, as others have mentioned.
-and the all time worst footwear, IMO: i would rather go barefoot!!!

I think that is absolutely disgusting when people go out in pajama pants. There were a lot of people at my college that did that and I would always think, "Is it that much harder to just throw on jeans?!" Jeez.

I hate the general sloppy/careless/sports-wear-for-everyday look that America seems to be moving toward.

ITA, Kitty!  It's almost like people want to go out of their way to look bad, even when it requires little to no extra effort to just put on a decent pair of pants.

America is SO casual -- even for evening, everywhere you go, 90% of the girls are in jeans (which is fine; I mean, I wear them, too, but it can be overdone when there are so many other options!).

I wonder why this is happening in America... why are we such a casual culture when it comes to fashion?  We love to exceed in other arenas (like business) -- why not style?

Agreed. And it's so funny b/c just a few years ago, we dubbed this look the 'Stylethread Uniform.' Anyone else remember that?

Other looks that need to go away now:
~ leggings
~ skinny pants (I'm still okay with skinny jeans, but not pants)
~ skulls- I like them, but they're too common right now

I'm tired of the ginormous bags that are the size of a duffel bag.  Who needs that much stuff?

I don't remember it being the stylethread uniform, but i do remember Lucky magazine saying it was their uniform in the Editor section.
side note: London is a cool last name.

See, I don't mind that look all that much.  It's not the most creative thing to wear, but it's a quick and easy way to look put together.  And for the people that Stacy London deals with who feel like either have no time to put together an outfit or they have no sense of style and have no idea what's flattering on them, I think it's a look that makes sense for that type of person.  But yeah, it gets a little over-done.

Maybe this even goes back to the Fashion Hag days and it was the FH uniform. I remember when Lucky came out with it and we joked that they were spying on us b/c we'd been wearing it for months already.

I remembered a few more...I'm sick of seeing people wear flip flops with everything.  Talk about casual.  The people I manage are mostly in their early 20's to mid 20's and I always have to tell them "NO FLIPFLOPS!" when it comes to dress code.  They seriously would wear them to work with their dress clothes if I didn't spell this out.  Also, I saw a girl last weekend in flip flops and we had about 4 inches of snow on the ground!  What the hell???

I am also sick of capri pants (the kind that kind of taper in) which I believe are the new "mom jeans".

Yeah, I know what you mean.  The Stacey London combo isn't terrible, I'm just sick of seeing everyone in it.  In fact, I'm about ready to put away my pointy toe shoes for awhile.  They feel...tired.

Anything with words arching accross the butt, 99% of the time the attention should not be drawn to that persons hiney.

I am hoping that they pass a law that bans mens sandals, the kind that look hiking-esq, with the straps accross the toe and around the ankle.

<<anything with a wood heel/sole/etc>>

Ooh, not me. I love a stacked wood heel. Always have, always will. Though I must say, while I'm thrilled to be finding more of them lately, I don't like the idea that one of my favorite shoe looks is all over the place.

ITA! Our country has become so sloppy/casual and it drives me crazy. I see people running around in stained tees, worn sweats, and all sorts of visual horrors. And you never get that "second chance to make a first impression" - I definitely respect people more when they take some time to at least put on something clean and try to look put together. I wonder if this trend is tied to the "obesity of America" that's always being touted in the media. I think some people have just given up as they've gained weight, sadly.

-Uggs.  Especially in California, they're not necessary.

-wearing sloppy clothes (baggy gym clothes, sweats, etc.) outdoors.  Are jeans and a sweater too difficult to pull together??

-nonsensical clothing combinations.  Like a hooded sweatshirt, shorts/miniskirt, and Uggs.  If it's cold enough to wear a sweatshirt and Uggs, put on some frickin' pants.

-parkas with fur trimmed hoods.  Again, in California it's not necessary.

I am probably totally alone in this..but I hate acrylic nails. I think they look really tacky and they're EVERYWHERE. Worse, are the ones that are insanely long.

You're not alone. I hate them, too. I've had them twice in my life and they lasted about a day on me. I thought they looked terrible and I could barely function with them. They weren't even that long, either.

I know what your talking about. J.Crew used to drive me nuts. Like who would wear a wool turtleneck with a bikini?!? Then I spent part of Dec. in South Florida and wearing a big wool sweater with a skirt or shorts and flip flops is actually pretty cozy! It still bothers me, especially the t-shirt or tank top with giant wooly scarf I have seen on celebrities.

This list is solely derived from eating lunch and people watching with DH today:

enormous handbags - I always wonder what people put in them

skinny jeans that appear to cut off circulation - they cannot be comfortable and they do not look good.  I think regular skinnies are pretty cute.

and, looking sloppy.  I saw so many people walking by in ill-fitting or just messy pj attire!
