I'm not a huge exercise guru, but I find that when I exercise the week or so before my period, my symptoms are much less - even it's just getting out for a daily walk. If I don't exercise as much, woah nelly!
Squishy, if you find a solution let me know. I am a bloated, self-loathing, surly, low energy, gluttonous rage-a-holic, usually with a monster zit somewhere on my face, the week before my period. I can usually tell its getting to be that time again when I start feeling inexplicable hatred for my fellow man.
The day before my period is the worst, and I usually take midol then. It really helps me with the bloating. Otherwise, I just try to drink as much water as I can

I got nothing but sympathy for you. Personally, I've been eating everything in sight. I've found that laying in bed for multiple hours at a time (especially if accompanied by no work and soap operas) is usually a good cure for PMS symptoms. Just don't get bored or you'll start crying. (It's possible that's just me.)

I've been on Yaz BC for about six months and I NEVER retain water anymore. My weight barely fluctuates, and it used to fluctuate during the month quite a bit. It's been helpful for stabilizing my mood throughout the month as well.
