Hi all, was just having a conversation with my friends about the new movie Eddie Murphy is in and I realized that every time I hear he is in a movie, I know it will be horrible (although he had some really funny stuff in the 80s, what happened?). Which actor do you know as soon as you hear they are in something, that it will be bad?

ITA. Even if the movie is getting rave reviews, I'm positive that she will ruin it for me. I know she is supposed to be a great actor, but when I watch her, I never can suspend reality and think of her as the character she is playing. I'm always thinking, "I hate Gwyneth Paltrow!"
Michael Douglas is the same way. First of all, nearly every movie he made for a long stretch was about the oppressed wealthy white man who was being victimized by crazy, power hungry females or minorities. Examples: Fatal Attraction, Disclosure, Falling Down, A Perfect Murder, etc. He nearly ruined Traffic for me too, but luckily it had enough good actors in it that I still liked it.
It's not so much that they do bad movies, they just consistently do movies that I'm not the least bit interested in. Especially Julia Roberts - enough w/ the romantic comedy!
For men, I'd also go w/ Tom Cruise. Also, any Steven Speilberg film.
Hello....Ben Affleck. Of course it's not always true but he was #1 on my list. Female - J Lo - I liked Wedding Planner - other than that all of her movies sucked for me.
I can't believe ya'll don't like Nicolas Cage. I him.

aside from the 'actresses' like j. simp and p. ho... i have to say i keep my distance from cuba gooding jr's movies. and tom cruise, because he's such a colossal jackass that i have a very visceral reaction to his movies, even to the ones i enjoyed like jerry maguire.
