If you own one or have tried one, let me know what you think of them. I've seen the Jack Lalaine juicer and it's a bit pricey....I wanted to see if there is a different/better brand or if it's worth the money. Thanks
I own this Jack Lalaine juicier, which I got at Costco for $99.
I've had it since Christmas 2004 and I've definitely gotten my money's worth. I've been very satistfied with it. The infomercial is mostly true although I've had some pulp come out that wasn't completely dry.
I think cleanup is super-easy if you use a dishwasher. It's still not particularly difficult if you hand wash it.
Mine's an Omega, a brand found at health food stores and online that's supposed to be superior to the department store versions - more commercial style/durable, I guess.
It was pricey (about $300) but I've had it for about five years now. If you're going low-end, look for a company that sells replacement parts separately in case of breakage.
I would suggest thinking about what you'll be juicing - fruits, greens, ginger root, etc. Some are probably better than others based on what you need it to do. You can also look at instruction manuals on the company web sites and see if they have any pointers or dos/don'ts.
You don't have to go super high-end if you're willing to peel and seed everything first.
