It sounds like you'd want the Shuffle -- that's the smallest and least expensive model. Regular iPods hold TONS of music. Like your whole CD collection. If you just want something for a few songs when you work out and don't care about bringing your entire collection with you wherever you go, the Shuffle would probably be good.
Whichever device you buy will come with the iTunes program for your computer so you can purchase and download music. HTH!
I actually would recommend something with more space like the Nano but nothing too fancy like the Video i-pod. I initially thought the same thing "Oh I don't have too much" but ended up upgrading my Nano to more gigs when we had to replace one of our i-pods. I was surprised how much more I wanted to listen to especially when you can start downloading music.
I started with the 2GB and now I have the 4GB. I had filled up my 2GB but still have plenty of room on the 4GB. Like I said earlier, thought I would NEVER even have enought to fill up the 2GB. Little did I know.
Also when we got my son his for his 7th birthday, we didn't go with the Shuffle for the reason that you can't "see" what song is playing and you don't seem to have as much control over it. He has a 2GB Nano and I'm glad that we spent a bit more for it. It was worth it.
Here's the Apple link so you can check them out and see what might work best for you. http://www.apple.com/itunes/
Thanks boobaby I was looking at ebay and they had the 4GB refurbished for 179.00 but I was unsure and thought I should get it from the applestore itself
