I know most of you disagree with this, but I'm not impressed with LV quality. I bought an epi speedy this past Fall and returned it because it felt cheap to us.

I personally hate LV bags and I've never understood the hype around them.

I would MUCH prefer a Chanel bag.

I think they're both timeless, but Chanel moreso.

I love both.....But I'm partial to LV as I own LV. I don't care if there are knock offs and such as well as many peeps wearing it. It has been around years, I think they are timeless bags. Never had a problem with the quality. But I may be the wrong person to ask, as I carry bags and wear things that perhaps the masses have adopted, but I caught on long before- and don't feel the need to toss it aside just because everyone knocks it off or too many people where it. IMO nothing is exclusive anymore anyway.

I do however despise the LV multi- colored bags......woof.

Either are a nice bag IMO.

I find the brown on brown LV to be so BLEH! If the same patterns/textures were sold without the name, I don't think many people would find them beautiful. I never really understood the love for LV other than that everyone knows how much you spent so its a status thing.

both. i think both brands are timeless and classy. both have had their "trendy moments" but have continued to be classic staples for years and years.

ITA. They are just two different brands, but they're in the same league.

I've owned items from both companies and I would consider them to be the same qualitywise.

I will say that LV canvas is nothing short of indestructible. My poor little Speedy has been through the wringer but it is more beautiful than it was the day I got it.

I agree - LV is special despite the crazy amount of knock offs. Their stores are so special. Although I would NEVER knock Chanel either.

If I had to choose, I guess I would go with Chanel. I'm not crazy about either though.

The only LV logo bag I like is the Speedy, and some of the Epi Leather styles.

And I don't care what anyone else says, but the classic quilted Chanel bags look like old lady bags to me, even when celebs are wearing them. Some of the newer styles are okay.

I have both now and I have to say I think of them differently although I think they are both classics. The price points for Chanel also start much higher than the starting for LV.

I think of LV as more of an everyday classic. It's easy to go places and use my LV without feeling like it's "too much". I would use my Chanel more for going out for dinner and nicer places, etc.

I have to also disgree about the quality. My LV has withstood A LOT of beating, spills, drops, etc. Both the regular logo and and epi leather wallet I've had for 10 yrs (it only shows some wear around the edges). I plan on getting an epi leather speedy bag this year just b/c it's been so durable.

btw - has anyone seen the plastic Chanel purse in Teen Vogue this month? I think it's over $1000 for a plastic purse!!! lol

I have both and I think both brands make timelessly, elegant styles... as well as trendy, gaudy things too. I have an black Epi speedy and a Chanel cavier leather quailted bag. This is a lame answer, but people are more impressed by the Chanel, so I'll go with that.
