I just bid on something I've decided I really don't want. Is there any way to lower my maximum bid? I'm hoping to be outbid.

As long as it's not within 12 hours (or maybe it's 24 hours?) you can cancel it and say you entered the wrong amount - you'll be prompted to enter the right amount.
