Forum Host's Response - post any further problems here
Permalink Closed

This is the response received from the Forum Host:

"To follow up on your phone call this morning, we have done some testing on the issue that the users posted on your forum.

The first issue is a Firefox user that was not able to post. We focused on testing everything on Firefox and IE and all of the function was suppose to work fine for both browser. We noticed that the cursor did not show up on the text editor when you first open the posting page, however if you try to type in anything it will start showing the cursor. This might have confused her because she might thought that he was not able to type in when the cursor is not active.

Can you ask her to try one more time, click "Start a new topic", wait until the menu loads and then

start typing. She does not have to wait until the cursor appear, just start typing once the comment box appear.

The second issue was not being able to copy and paste image. We tested copying and pasting image on IE and the function should work fine. We start by going to a website right click on an image and click "Copy" then click "Paste" on the editor and the picture showed up nicely. With Firefox however it's a little bit tricky since apparently when you right click on the image and click "Copy Image" the image is sometimes saved on your local temp folder along with other cookies. IE copies the image as is (so it actually copies the HTML code needed to display the image along with the image URL) but Firefox saves it locally so it will not show up properly online. If your users were having trouble copying image, ask them to choose "Copy Image location" instead. Then on the editor, click on the little tree icon (the icon for inserting image) and then right click + paste on Image URL field. Then click "Insert".

If for any reason your IE users are still having problems copying image, follow these steps. Right click on the image and click "Properties". A new dialog box will appear. Copy the address(URL) (the address should look something like
http://www.website.com/image.jpg). Then go to the editor, click the insert image icon and paste the URL on Image URL and click "Insert".

We have uploaded a few fixes since Monday and if you could ask your members again to let us know if their problems have been resolved that would help us cross some of the problems of the list.

Here is the complete feature list:

On the first row of the menu bar there are 10 buttons:

1. Font size

2. Font Family

3. Color picker

4. Bold

5. Italics

6. Underline

7. Left align

8. Center align

9. Right align

10. Justify

On the second row there are 11 buttons:

1. Bullet lists

2. Numbered lists

3. Outdent

4. Indent

5. Image insert

6. Undo

7. Redo

8. Insert/Edit Link (to insert a link type in the text you want the link to show up as, then

highlight it and click this button)

9. Unlink (to use this move the cursor to the link then click this button) 10.HTML (to edit the text in HTML mode) 11. Toggle Fullscreen mode

I hope this information helps. If you need any further help, let us know."
