I've never had this problem before and have no idea what to use! I just bought a sample from Sephora, it worked for a few days and now i have to pack it on to really work and i still see some flakes or dryness on my face! Ugh!
and then i come to find out i have a little bit of eczema (sp?) on my eyelids. UGH! i'll be getting some stuff for that soon.
It's really dry and windy where i live right now and need help
It is so dry where I live right now, too. Are you in Chicago, by any chance? Anyway, I normally have oily skin so I just recently decided to add moisturizer to my skin care routine. I use this Aveeno lotion (clear complexion) and I love it:
But if you don't need the acne-fighting ingredients, you might want to try another Aveeno. My boyfriend has been using this on his face for awhile and loves it (he has very dry skin):
I've had excema my whole life and I suspect yours is not really as severe as mine, but this winter sure has been horrible on most people's skin - even those who usu don't have skin problems. The best solution for excema is just hydration.
My dermatologists have recommended cetaphil, vaseline, aquaphor, and eucerin. I find the Eucerin and Aquaphor (like petroleum jelly but water-based) are my best bets for normal times. The past week has been wretched though, and I've been using Eucerin Original (really thick) and straight vaseline (as recommended by my dermatologist).
Also - I use a humidifier every night to counter the heater and re-hydrate my skin. And drink lots of water. hth!

are cetaphil, aquaphor, and eucerin over the counter or do i need a perscription for them? I've been using aloe vera and vaseline and its helped, but very slowly. and can i use them all over my face? I guess i should look into a humidifier, at night is when we turn up the heater........ thanks so much for the info.! thank you, thank you, thank you!
