For me it's one of those looks that I'd admire on girls who could rock it, but wouldn't try myself. I so couldn't pull it off.

I think they could make a person's legs look really short. But on a tall girl, not so bad. They are kinda cool.

The Sartorialist seems to like this look. I think there's a fine line between it being interesting and being ill-fitting, Annie Hall-ish.

I also like this look on tall girls, but even on the girl in this photo - her body seems unproportional. The jacket makes her top half look longer than her bottom half.

I think they look cool on her, but I agree that you have to be tall and very thin to pull them off.

I like it... but I'm tall, and that may make a difference.

Harem pants are also growing on me, but in more of a dropped crotch, loose pant vs. the hammer pants extreme.

i like them too, though i can't decide if it's actual like, or i've just seem them enough that i'm no longer shocked @ the shape.  i just got a pair of silk ones from express, that i'm excited to wear once the weather warms up.

I saw her top half by itself before I scrolled down, and was expecting a light wash destroyed denim in a loose fit, cropped/pegged and rolled up.  I don't hate what she's got on and am relieved we're getting some variety in pant shapes instead of all-skinny-all-the-time, but I think I would prefer the jeans I'd throught up in my head!

I really like her vibe though, but the pants almost tip it into 'trying too hard' IMO.  Maybe because they're a little shiny?

I think it would work in certain cities/places but not everywhere and not on everyone. Definitely not on me!

ITA. I don't think I could wear that where I live without getting a few strange looks (or without people just thinking that I'm wearing some crazy pants in the wrong size that I found at Goodwill), but maybe in NYC it wouldn't be so abnormal?

I don't think they're for me. I think they're sort of trendy, but I wouldn't call them flattering.

I agree - if you have short legs or a booty, it will be tough to pull off.

Don't really care for it, but I'm not into the slouchy/oversized look anyways.
