I realized today that I have waaaay too many pairs of underwear. Not bras, just underwear. Somehow I have this idea in my mind that I have no underwear, and I pick some just about every time I go out. But today I was rooting around for socks, but I couldn't find any because everywhere was exploding with underwear! I can't think of anything else I overdo it on really, though. Which is dumb - I'll pay $6 for a pair of panties I definitely don't need, but if I see a cami on sale for $6 that I desperately need, I'll think, "I really just don't feel like spending any more money today..."
So it got me thinking... what do you have way too much of? We talk about the holes in our closets a lot, but rarely about what we go way overboard on...

Whenever they are on sale I buy them like 3 for whatever price well now I have like 30 and I don't like the ones with the bra in them anymore so I guess Ill be doing a clean out. I actually have too many of a lot of things like that. Socks too, I have way to many gym socks and not enouf dress socks for work.

this may sound dumb, but I don't like the shelf bras that were in a couple of my camis, because they would create weird lines if my boobs didn't fit into them. It's kind of a ghetto solution, but I just cut the shelf bra out. It's not like anyone can notice!

I have way too many solid colored tanks that I never wear. Somehow I always acquire more because I think "this will look cute layered under this" but those thoughts never seem to come to fruition. I have so many in my closet that I never wear that I sometimes just want to throw them all out!
Other than that, I'm also starting to border on an excessive numbers of kimono/wrap dresses and shirts. But I them so much!
Everything except for pants and skirts.I hate shopping for bottoms. I have way to many tops, shoes, underwear etc.,because I go through periods of time where I will be obsessed with buying a certain item of clothing.

I've done that too. Sometimes the shelf bra thing is just not quite comfortable.
I have too many old v-neck, cap-sleeve t-shirts. I pretend I hang onto them just to wear under sweaters or around the house, but I never actually do.
I do have many black tank tops, one for every possible occasion, from casual knits/beaters to dressy silk tanks with sequins or whatnot. But I don't see anything wrong with that. I mean, where can you NOT wear a black tank of some sort?
I have way too many Hanes beaters. I just tossed out the ones that have stains and/or have stretched out, leaving me with 37. Who needs 37 of the same undershirt? I wear them everyday, but still... it's rediculous. I always pick them up at Target, thinking "as long as I'm here..." I, too, have a crazy amount of underwear.
lately i am feeling like the answer to this question is "everything." but to pinpoint, i would have to say dresses. i managed to get it under 100, but barely.
i've moved out the things i'm getting rid of, giving away, selling on ebay, etc. so that i don't have to look at them anymore. i was very brutal- things i paid a ton for, things i LOVE but don't fit me correctly..etc. and man do i feel so much better. I don't feel like i have too much of anything- just the perfect amount (though the rest is all upstairs in storage for the time being!) like lilykind- i see gaps mainly- but i'm SLOWLY trying to fill them. I am finding that the less you buy, the more creative you become.
Hey, how do you quote anyone anymore? I don't like this new functionality!
<<I am finding that the less you buy, the more creative you become. >>
ITA with this. I bought way less last year (quality over quantity) and lately have found that I have more workable things in my closet than I ever seemed to before. It's easier to plan outfits for vacations, etc. Buying only what I truly love - and look good in - has made such a difference.
That said, I probably have way too many camis. I keep buying them though, thinking I'll find the *perfect* ones...but none of them work for everything.

I have way too many going out clothes. I haven't bought any in years, but I could still go out every weekend for the next 6 months and not repeat an outfit. Easily.
On the flip side, I have barely have any work appropriate clothes, particularly for spring/summer. I have a ton of casual spring clothes, but not very many casual winter clothes. My closet is just all over the place.
This is very specific, but I have way too many grey deep v-neck sweaters. Its an addiction. I also have too many Old Navy long white beaters. I buy at least 2 a month. I'm obsessed with them looking pristine white.
I agree with undies. I am about to do another weed out and throw some more out.
I also have too many ill fitting tshirts. I must have bought 15 last summer from J Crew outlet and they all stretched out after one wearing. I was really disappointed in them. I even tried to buy the next size down (XS) and it stretched out too much. It would be one thing if they were crew necks but they are all vnecks and my boobs fall out.

oh, definitely the same here. I have barely any printed things. I dont' know why, I don't dislike prints on other people, but I never find myself gravitating towards them or buying them. I think I'm very picky about which prints I like, so I dont' bother putting all the work in and buy all solid things isntead
