Just wanted to let you guys know that a generic form of Seasonale is now on the market! I just refilled my prescription yesterday, and was given Jolessa (one of the generics, a second one was just released too, called Quasense) instead of Seasonale. It's about half the price that Seasonale is, finally! It only cost me $35 for the 3 month pack instead of the $75 that the name brand does (and that's at 50% coverage), so it comes out to only about $11 a month .
Happy dance happy dance happy dance!
I know that the cost of Seasonale has been prohibitive for some people, so I wanted to spread the word .

FANTASTIC! i am calling today to get my doctor to rewrite my script for Seasonale!!! yippee!!!
I received it the other day through my mail order company (was only $10) and I wasn't too excited. I think I'm going to try it for one month and see. My coworker was switched to the generic and now she is on her period every darn week but was fine on the brand name version of Seasonale.
Yep - I've had mine for almost 2 months now. The price is definitely better although the packaging could use some work. I'll sacrifice a little crummy packaging for the cut in price definitely!!

How long had she been on the Seasonale? I was on it for a year awhile back, and had no spotting at all through my first pack. I had about a 3 weeks of spotting during each of the following 2 packs, and then back to nothing my fourth pack. Same thing is happening this time around - first pack no spotting, and I just finished my second pack and had about a week of spotting. We'll see if the generic makes a difference! I wonder if your coworker is just super sensitive to the different preservatives, etc in different meds? I'm gonna be pissed if the generic makes me spot all the damn time .....

I'm almost done with month 2 of the generic and I haven't had any spotting this pack. At least none so far.
I'm not 100% sure with how long she'd been on the brand name one but it sounded like it had been awhile and then she was on the 1st generic pack when she started to complain about it. I'm a tad nervous about the change but there is no telling. I've never had issues before with brand vs. generic in bc pills so I think I'll give it a 3 month try. That should be enough for me to tell by the time I go see the doctor in March to see if I need to get the brand only prescription or not.
