When I was applying my concealer yesterday I noticed that the skin under my eyes is getting looser and there are a few slight lines. I'm kind of freaking out... I'm only 21, though I look much younger. I'm thinking that I need to change my routine.
As it stands, in the morning I cleanse, moisturize, and apply makeup (for everyday it's tinted moisturizer, concealer, eye liner, and blush... nothing too heavy). At night I wash my makeup off, apply some DDF 5% BP gel on blemishes if/when needed, and moisturize. It's worked for me so far.
I was thinking about adding a wrinkle control product into my skincare routine soon, but now it's a necessity. Anyone have any product recommendations? I generally like Philosophy and Clinique products but I'm open to anything. TIA!
you are not going to want a "wrinkle" product for under your eyes. most "wrinkle" preventing products are kind of drying.
i would recommend an eye cream for you. i personally use Caudalie's eye cream but at $50 a tube- its a lot for some people to swallow. my family (mom, sister, aunts) all age prematurely under the eyes and i haven't experienced any issues yet. I'm 27. Most of my wrinkles have been on my forehead from being too over-animated when I talk!
hth! i am sure more people will have other products to recommend that are just as good!
when I was about your age, I started noticing some wrinkles around my eyes. They were really noticeable under the lights of the university's restrooms.
But I noticed they wouldn't be there anymore after a few days of vacation...
what I am trying to say, is that they are likely due to lack of sleep, stress, eating habits that are not great, or something like that. I am really convinced taking care of those things has more effect that any cream...
It might not be your case, but it's just a suggestion
Do you have bad vision? The reason I ask is that I've had bad vision since 6th grade and even though I wear contacts or glasses, I occasionally find myself squinting in order to see better. I think that's contributed to the wrinkle I have right between my eyebrows. When I keep my prescriptions up to date, I squint less.
Also, sunscreen, as Kitty suggested, and sunglasses will help.
I recommend sleep, sunglasses, sunscreen (EVERY day, even in the winter), and also a retinoid of some sort, not only for your eye area, but also for your entire face. And make sure you're drinking enough water.
I used a roc product many years ago when I caught a glimpse of where a line was forming, and it was effective. I have since ramped up my eye cream use and have some rather pricey products (Hylexin and Elemis eye support) and my eyes are looking pretty darn good!
So, since lines and wrinkles haven't really set in yet for you, I'd start using an eye cream. Wear sunscreen all the time, and put on your sumglasses any time you feel your self start to squint. And drink tons of water.
I wouldn't go so far as to say you need a wrinkle cream, but definitely invest in an eye cream so that you have moisturizer. I got a couple of funky wrinkles
I use Kinerase's Intensive Eye Cream and Under Eye Rescue now. I've used eye cream pretty religiously since I was 16 to help the appearance of my under eye circles. I also really like Shiseido's Bio-Performance eye cream and the Benefiance eye masks for moisture.
Of course, try to get a full night's sleep, wear sunscreen, drink liquids, and wear big ol' sunglasses as much as you can.
