What are y'all doin' on New Years Eve?

I think i've been awake for it just twice in the past 10 years (last year and 1999/2000), so I'm looking for some inspiration/motivation from you all.

i think this year we are going to our friends house.  they are having a few couples over and we are going to eat shrimp and seafood and steak and drink lots of champagne!

should be fun.  i'm looking forward to it.  last year we did the whole hotel thing where we got dressed up and i didn't have as much fun as i thought i would...

Just going to a friend's party, I guess. My BF and I have a friend in the city where I go to school (I'm home with my parents for xmas break, and BF lives close to my parents)...so we're probably going to go stay in my apartment for a few days and party-hop. I'm on some medication right now where I can't drink alcohol, so I'll be able to drive us to all different parties all night

boooo, nothing. Staying at home by myself. My husband and I got invited to visit his BFF a few hours away, but we will be gone the previous week & there is no one to watch the dogs (plus I don't exactly enjoy hanging out with his BFF & his wife anyway). So I told him to go without me. Anyone have fun recs for me sitting at home?

Most years I watch a movie until shortly before midnight and then watch the ball drop on t.v. and then go to bed right afterwards!

I don't have any suggestions, but I will be stuck home alone too. My BF lives 4 hours away and is going to a friends party for new years eve. I was invited, but didn't wanna drive that far to spend the night watching him drink and throw darts with his friends.

I think we are going to go up to Vancouver and hang w/ my bro and law and his wife.  We don't see them very often, so it should be fun.  My favorite NYE activity is usually a small party w/ 6 - 10 good friends.

Vegas, baby! I'm going with my bf and a bunch of our friends.  But since everyone else starts school on the 2nd we have to head back on New Years and hopefully beat all the traffic.

I'll be in Palm Beach, Florida with my boyfriend's family. We're going to a party with a lot of boring, old people... I think NYE is overrated and would honestly be fine staying in.

I think NYE is overrated too.  I'm such a homebody and I hate crowds and drunk drivers scare me, so we're probably going to stay in.  We might have some people over and play games or do something low key.

We have a couple of tables reserved at a local lounge with some friends.  The only thing that drives me nuts about the night is the fact that it is impossible to get a cab.

I may just bite the bullet and only have a couple of cocktails and drive so that we don't have to fight for cabs.  That is always such a buzzkill.

I totally agree. Hubby and I will have dinner at a nice restaurant on the 30th. New Year's Eve we'll stay at home and play games and watch a movie and have a fire. I'll make something fun and yummy to eat.

we are not big NYE people. The few times we have attempted it , it has rained , been to crowded , not fun at all.

This year we will probably just hang at home and probably go to bed early

I'm going to a 50s lounge themed party in Pittsburgh.  I'm looking forward to it, since I don't get to dress up for themed parties very often.

I'll be on a plane for most of the evening but should be landing in houston at 9:30 which gets me home around 10-10:30 just in time to go to bed as I will be a very tired girl.  No new years eve fun for me.

We're having a small party at our house.  But all the kids will be here, so we may not make it til midnight.  Fine w/ me....... I'd rather be sleeping anyway.  I'm an old fart.

Bah.  Humbug.

I'm going to my bf's sister and BIL's house for a small get-together. It's supposed to be fun, but probably won't be... it'll just be like any other night. I'm not big on NYE, either.
