Gwen Stefani - What the Hell Was That?

Did anyone watch the AMAs last night?  Not only is that Wind It Up song the worst song ever made (crazy me...I thought she was a singer, not a crap ass rapper), but everything about that performance was wrong.  The wigs, the dancers wearing pajamas, the crotch shots up her tiny, ugly costume.  I honesly thought that she couldn't sink any lower than Hollaback Girl, but she proved me wrong.  She has sunk to a new low.  I can honestly say with no reservation that she is the most over hyped person in the music business right now.

On a side note, the guy playing the snare drum was quite good though.

I didn't watch the VMA's, because I think everyone in today's music sucks anyway, but I can't stand Gwen Stefani! She bugs!! She needs to reinvent herself or something! I'm sick of her lame excuse for style, and the crap for music she puts out as well.

Ok, I'll stop hating now.

Honestly I only watched it because I wanted to see how Nicole Richie looked and see Lionel perform.  I love him!!!

That's the only performance I caught and I agree, that song is annoying!  What is with the yoldeling (sp?)?!?  She does look great for post baby though, maybe that's why they did all those "crotch shots up her tiny, ugly costume"

You girls will probably flame me for this, but I love Gwen - I can't help it.  I hated Hollaback Girl, but Wind it Up is sort of growing on me

I only caught part of the performance, so maybe I missed the really bad parts, but I didn't think it was that bad.  Don't yell at me Farrah!

I agree w/FP - she looked FAB for just giving birth, but I'm hating her new hairdo or wig, or whatever it is.

I love her too! And I really think all of her songs are addicting, which may or may not be a little embarrassing. Plus, I LOVE the Sound of Music, and since that's where the yodelling is from, I kind of appreciate it.

I did not however, see the performance, so I can't say anything about that... but I did go to her concert and I thought it was amazing AND I can't wait for her new CD to come out!

I just miss the days when she wrote music with lyrics that meant something.  I'm so frustrated with artists who rock a beat in the background of the song and throw in a couple of "uh's" and "yeah's" and call it music.  Argh.

I didn't see the show but if its the same song I've been hearing on the radio its from "Sound of Music". The yodeling is the song that the kids sing when they're playing the puppet show.

Do you think they'll show the awards again so I can view the "train wreck"?

Right.  She sampled a piece of the song.  The whole song isn't from the Sound of Music though.

Of course, I wouldn't be shocked if some idiot remade a terrible version of a classical musical song in it's entirety.  What's next?  A sampling of "I Feel Pretty"?  Seriously...is nothing sacred to these morons?

Wow, this thread cracked me up. When I saw this performance, I was in shock- I couldn't believe what was happening. SO bad. I watched it with my Mother, and she actually left the room, she was like, "oh my god, I can't watch this". She's a big fan of Gwen, too.

I took the liberty of providing you lovely ladies with a pic from her nightmarish performance.  It is a fashion calamity...
