O.J.'s TV Special Muses, "If I Did Kill Nicole...." On Nov. 27 and 29, Fox will air a two-part special titled [Insert shudder here] O.J. Simpson: If I Did It, Here's How It Happened. Over the course of the two hours, the former footballer reveals to publisher Judith Regan (who, not coincidentally, is putting out his If I Did It book later this month) how he killed ex-wife Nicole Brown Simpson and Ron Goldman. Oops, I mean how he would have killed them. "This is... the definitive last chapter in the Trial of the Century," says Mike Darnell, Fox's executive vice president of alternative programming. All together now: Ewww!
Isn't there a law that states it is illegal to have monetary gain from the commission of a crime? e.g. Killing your wife and then getting rich from book and movie deals.

there is, but since he was found not guilty, it probably doesn't apply.

yeah, that is just soooo weird. i mean, does he just want to confess so he doesn't have to live with the guilt anymore? who would write a book like that? who would BUY a book like that? it is just too weird.
When I saw this I thought it had to be a joke -- I don't see how he can possibly think this is a good idea, unless he's broke and needs the money. It's so sick that he can come so close to admitting he really killed her. Shudder.

I think this too, and isn't there a sum he HAS to pay them, maybe he's doing this to make that up. I don't know how he or anyone assocciated with him would think this kind of publicity is remotely appropriate?!
On the NBC news broadcast tonight, it said the civil suit against Simpson had held him liable for $33 million. It also said the Goldman family was going to take legal action to ensure he couldn't profit from this, so maybe that's how they're trying to finally get paid. (?)

I heard that most of the proceeds were going to end up going to the Goldman family. The whole thing is so utterly f*cked up. From what I understand though, it's not a joke and Simpson is coming out with a book by the end of the month. Is he hoping that people will give the book as a holiday gift???
Even If he is Innocent (which I never believed he was) why on earth would a sane person write a book about murdering there dead ex wife?? It is just so sick on so many levels.
The whole thing is just sordid. I live a couple of blocks from his wife's condo...so I drive by pretty frequently. I feel so badly for his poor children!
Murdoch cancels Simpson book, special News Corp. CEO Rupert Murdoch squashed the O.J. Simpson book and television special, apologizing for the pain it may have caused the families of the victims of the 1994 slaying. "I and senior management agree with the American public that this was an ill-considered project," Murdoch said in a statement released Monday afternoon by News Corp. "We are sorry for any pain this has caused the families of Ron Goldman and Nicole Brown-Simpson."
