Over the past month or so, I've had some flaking towards the front of my scalp/hairline. I don't think it's dandruff - it doesn't itch, doesn't flake off onto my clothes, and isn't all over my head. Could this just be dry scalp? Or maybe even product build up? I don't use much product in my hair at all, but could using the same shampoo all the time cause this?
Can someone help me figure out what's going on w/me head and recommend anything I can do or a product I can try to get rid of these pesky flakes? TIA!

Nope, never tried one - can you recommend one?
I actually don't use the same clarifying brand consistantly... I haven't noticed much difference between the brands I've tried, so I just buy whatever's on sale.
Maybe someone else can recommend one?

I buy clarifying shampoo at Sally Beauty Supply, I use it about once a week in lieu of my reg. shampoo to rid of build up. I don't use a specific one either, just whatever is on sale.

Farrah - how often do you use this?
When the problem initially started I would wash my hair with it everytime I washed it, but I would wash it once with the tea tree and then once with my regular shampoo. Once the problem was corralled I cute down to once a week. HTH!

get yourself a good gentle clarifying shampoo. if going to ulta or another B&M store, ask the SA for a non-stripping one. some clarifying are extremely harsh, esp. to color treated hair. i remember you saying you got some lowlights recently and i would hate to see those fade on you!

Yep, I have highlights & lowlights - can you recommend a gentle one bex?
Farrah - you have colored hair and the tea tree oil shampoo doesn't hurt, does it? I've been reading up on tea tree oil being good for your scalp health and I have such dry skin everywhere, I could use it!

Not at all. My mom is a stylist so I get all of my product info from her. (Which is nice becauser she has no agenda when she gives me my details.)

Yep, I have highlights & lowlights - can you recommend a gentle one bex? The PM tea tree oil one that Farrah recommended is a good one. People who only carry a few items from the PM line usually carry the tea tree products. I would recommend pretty much any professional brand over drugstore. usually your drugstore brands have some harsher ingrediants in them which can be distressing to your color.

I was having some scalp issues and started using the Tea Tree based on a recommendation. I use it everyday but now realize that maybe I should cut back.
