has anyone else seen this show? it's on animal planet friday nights. we just discovered it and i am totally obsessed with it.
the premise is that cambridge university has been in the calahari studying a family of meerkats (those little prarie dog like animals -- i think there was a one in the lion king) for the past 10 years. they have cameras set up all over the meerkats' territory, and have put the footage together into this show. it's kind of like a reality show with meerkats as the characters. the meerkats all have names and distinct personalities, and their group dynamic is fascinating. it has to be the cutest show ever.
My kids (an me) love it! It's on OnDemand, so we can watch it over and over. It's missing episode 4, though, where one of the babies is left outside and dies.

I hate that episode. I love this show - it's so cool. I think it's so sad sometimes because of pure reality but it's so interesting. The Ft Worth zoo has a great meerkat area & we will watch them forever. We go back to them several times when we are there - they all have jobs & they are fascinating to watch.

I love MM! My little brother turned me on to it. He was telling me about this show (MM) his dog loved (no joke). I watched it at his house just so I could see the dog's reaction, and I was hooked.
