Anyone else watch this last night? I wasn't blown away, but I'm interested enough to keep watching and see how the show develops. I really like some of the actors on it (Amanda Peet, Sarah Paulson, Matthew Perry).

that was one hell of a pilot.

i haven't been this excited for a show in a long time, but that's probably my west wing carrying over. bradley whitford!  timothy busfield!  matthew perry!  *gushes like a fangirl*

i'm glad i didn't see josh lyman or chandler bing in these characters... jordan (amanda peet's character) has the potential to become very annoying, and i can feel a love triangle coming (ugh).. she's also pregnant so i wonder how the writers will choose to address that. i hope aaron sorkin can keep it up, because he sure is one talented writer.

edited becuz i kan't speel.

blah...i was so excited for this show before and was really disappointed after watching.  i thought the first half was pretty boring, and the second half not a whole lot better.  and who on earth is that one guy (the actor from Wings) supposed to be?  he's Amanda Peet's boss, right?  but she's the Pres of the network, right?  so what's his position?  i didn't get it.

i'm somewhat interested in continuing to watch it, but i'll miss next week because i must watch Monday Night Football (go Falcons!) instead, so we'll see if my interest can survive two weeks and if i can even follow it after missing an ep.

i was just really let down...i guess there was too much hype surrounding it.

I agree.  I haven't watched the 2nd half (as too bored with the first half), but I'm going to try to finish it tonight.

I had such high hopes for this one too.

I was disappointed too. I didn't watch The West Wing religiously but I always liked it and I like the theme of this show (references to the downfall of SNL, network politics) but as I was watching it I found myself having a hard time about getting really excited over the dramatic developments at a tv show. With something like The Insider or Network I can get really wrapped up in the intrigue and outrageous things that happen behind the scenes but last night I was just like "blah, comedy show, who cares."
Also I don't mind Amanda Peet but either her character is poorly written or she's a bad actress because it seemed like all she did in the pilot was walk around with a weird grin on her face.

This confused me too. I asssumed he was the president of whatever company owns the network (like how there is a head of GE and then a head of NBC) but the website says he's the chairman of the network.

I'm definitely going to give this one a few weeks.  I wasn't blown away by it, but I really liked it.  I was impressed with Matthew Perry.  I wasn't a West Wing fan, so I didn't know what to expect from some of the others, but I am looking forward to seeing how it progresses.

Not great, but it was entertaining. I think it might be okay if given a few weeks.

I'm in "wait and see" mode.

I looooved the pilot. i thought it was one of the best pilots i've ever seen, actually. re: the characters, amanda is president of the tv network but he is chairman so she still reports to him.

I just watched it & I liked it. I'm also in wait & see mode - I can see everyone's points about the negatives but I am pretty easy to please I guess....

hee! i lurved the pilot, so i'm even easier to please

on another note, they're doing reruns on bravo.  they played it last night at 11pm, and they're playing it again on sunday at 11pm.

nbc might've doomed the show by pitting it against monday night football... they'd better not cancel the show after the next 5 episodes.

I never watched The West Wing and I never wanted to, so I wasn't sure if I would like this show. My husband and I thought last night was great too.
