i.e. when you're bloated, puffy, cranky, groggy etc etc because it's that time of the month
i have to seriously fight the urge to sulk in a sweatshirt and the biggest pair of jeans i own. what do y'all do to keep motivated? everything i wear seems to scream "don't look at me, i'm menstruating!!"
haha, I had to deal with this this morning. I look like crap, so I'm home from campus now in between classes because I have to go to my old job right after classes to train the person who will be replacing me, and I need to polish myself up...
I do wear the biggest jeans I own. With my belt one hole looser than usual. If I'm lucky enough to have shaved my legs, I have a super comfy jersey skirt that I wear because it expands with my bloatiness... but usually I feel like crap too much to bother shaving. Then I just wear a cozy sweater, usually the longer kind that belts, like this:
(this one is a maternity sweater, I know, but it illustrates what I mean and it was easier remember the sweater I just saw in rar210's post than looking for another one)
and a plain tee or tank underneath. It's not the hottest outfit ever, but it's definitely better than what I want to wear, which is sweatpants and a big blanket wrapped around me all day. And the sweaters are big and cozy and comfy enough that it hides how gross I am. If I don't even feel like blowing out my hair, I just curl the ends of my day-old hair and put it back with a thick headband. I do think it looks casually cute, like I didn't put too much effort into it. Which I didn't. I can't be bothered to do a lot the first few days of my period, so I pretty much use the same formula so I don't have to think too hard

I usually wear clothes that have some give (dresses, skirts, pants with stretch) and a looser top. Maybe a sweater or something to cover up. But I would make sure that my accessories are fabulous! If my accessories shine, then I feel cute and I have the confidence that I think really makes people appear cute(r).
my BCBG cardiwrap. i'll contort the darn thing into whatever way is most flattering. then i wear nice makeup, do my hair, and great accessories.
there's about ten ways to wear it.

I try to wear something that feels very good. If it's cool out, cashmere and a comfy pair of trousers, or a skirt and my comfortable boots. If it's warm, maybe a jersey dress that's sort of flowy? My failsafe designer is Rachel Pally and DVF. Their designs just drape in all the right ways and make me feel good no matter what!
